What Makes Ernest Quansah Happy?
Caring about people and doing nice things for them is what makes Ernest Quansah happy. When Ernest was in college, the teacher in one of his classes asked the students to write what made them happy on a piece of paper, and to pass their pieces of papers to the student in front of them to read. The students were surprised when they heard Ernest’s answer about caring for and helping people. Many asked, “Who wrote this answer”? In philosophy class, the professor asked a similar question to which Ernest gave the same response. The professor told the class that if Ernest finds happiness in caring for people and helping them, his actions are based on selfishness, because the actions make him happy. In Peer Counseling class, the lead psychologist also raised a similar question. Ernest recalled what the previous professor had said, but in this case, the lead psychologist told Ernest that if he stopped helping people and caring about them, he would be changing who he was. The world we live in has changed. Ernest Quansah shows his care to others through his books, written solely to help others.
